Have you contacted the developer of the app? They should be able to refresh the content when the information is updated.<BR><BR>That said, if you tag your FLAC files, they should have no issue displaying with song titles in the third-party apps.<BR><BR>I'm happy to take a look if you provide the URL of the item referenced.

Yes the lack of tags seems to be the issue. The problem is that before, I would upload the files, and then before checking it in I would be taken to the Metadata editor, which would read the .txt file, and auto populate it to Files, formats, and derivations. Then I'd just have to fill out the rest of the form, and it would derive nicely tagged lossy files for me. Now though, despite having put the setlist in the description form on the upload page, as soon as I finish uploading it starts deriving untagged files and I have to wait until it's done until I can go into the Metadata editor. I assumed after I was finally able to do that, things should be hunky dory. After all I could then see the song names at the top. The problem is the mp3s never get updated. Wish I could have the old upload form back, especially if I have to tediously manually tag the files before uploading if that's what you are suggesting, which I'll have to figure out how to do since I've been relying on the archive uploader to do that for me since 2003 :(

Plenty of tools out there that will read your text file to populate the tags :<BR><BR>Windows - foobar2000 with the Live Show Tagger plugin<BR>Max - xACT<BR><BR>And lots of others out there. It is nowhere as difficult as you describe, thankfully.

No where near as difficult as I describe would be explaining that on the new uploader. What would also work is letting uploaders turn off the lossy derivates on the uploader, rather than automatically deriving and then having to go to the Metadata Editor to turn it off. Turn it back on in there after tagging and it corrects the mp3 files on the archive, but the ship has already sailed for fixing them in the Android app. <BR><BR>Lovely that the one Windows app provided has virtually no documentation whatsoever.

If you really want to learn I can help. If you want us to revert to the old uploader, that isn't going to happen. Do I hear your complaints? Yes? Do I agree? Somewhat. But I have no control of making any changes. Most of what you have suggested has already been requested. By me. But I have no ETA on any change so tagging your FLACs is how to resolve your issue.<BR><BR>That said, tagging your FLACs is easy. Setting up foobar2000 is easy. There is plenty of guidance on TS and FB. Just ask me or Gordon. I think Gordon even wrote up some instructions on FB recently. If it wasn't so late I'd find them. <BR><BR>If you want us to rederive the files after you added the song titles, just email us the links at etree@archive.org. <BR><BR>I can't say about the Android apps as those are third party developers. They should be able to rescrape the item to get the corrected data.

Googled and found a YouTube vid explaining how to add Foobar plugins, after that it was fairly self explanatory. Thanks. Just wish I didn't have to take time out of my already busy schedule to do that, causing you to have to take time out of your busy schedule to listen to me complain! :) What can I say I'm set in my ways after 16 years and 1297 archive uploads lol<BR><BR>This post was modified by Jhudson844 on 2019-05-25 05:30:23
